License & Usage Rights
1. Grant of License
By activating your access code or completing a purchase on playthecode.com, The Code Games (a trading name of Sea Star Creative Design Ltd, referred to as “we”, “us”, or “the Company”) grants you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, and non-transferable personal license to access and use the Mission Pi digital content. This license is valid strictly for the duration of your selected subscription period (1, 3, or 6 months).
2. Permitted Use (The “Mission Clearance”)
Domestic & Private Use: This license is intended for private, domestic, and non-commercial use only. You are encouraged to play the game with family, friends, or small groups (up to 12 participants).
Printing Rights: You are granted a specific sub-license to download and print the “DIY Mission Assets” (maps, posters, clues, and guides). These may be printed at home or through a professional high-street print shop for high-quality personal use.
Educational Exception: If you are a parent or home-educator, you may use these materials for non-commercial educational purposes within your immediate household or small home-education circle.
3. Restrictions & Prohibitions
To protect the integrity of the mission, the following actions are strictly prohibited under UK Copyright Law:
No Redistribution: You may not share, sell, rent, or lease your access codes or digital files with third parties.
No Commercial Gain: You may not use Mission Pi for paid events, ticketed parties, or any commercial business activity without a separate Commercial License from us.
No Derivative Works: You may not modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works based on the characters, storylines, videos, or puzzles of Mission Pi.
Public Broadcast: You may not broadcast or stream the gameplay videos in public spaces or on social media platforms in a way that reveals the full puzzle solutions to non-licensed users.
4. Intellectual Property (IP) Rights
All digital assets—including but not limited to videos, sounds, graphic designs, character names, and the “Mission Pi” brand—are the exclusive intellectual property of The Code Games. Your purchase constitutes a license to use the content, not a transfer of ownership of the underlying IP.
5. Registered Trademarks
The name “Play The Code” and the associated logo are registered trademarks of Sea Star Creative Design Ltd. These marks are officially recorded in The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) trademarks registry. We hold the official Registration Certificate, and any unauthorized use of these marks, or any confusingly similar marks, is strictly prohibited under the UK Trade Marks Act 1994.
The Mission Pi adventure and all related digital content are developed and published by The Code Games, a digital brand of Sea Star Creative Design Ltd.
6. Ownership of Content
All mission videos, storylines, puzzle designs, and graphic assets are protected by UK and international copyright laws. Your license to use the game does not grant you any rights to our trademarks or brand identity.
7. Termination of License
This license automatically expires at the end of your subscription period. We reserve the right to terminate your access immediately if a breach of these terms is detected (e.g., unauthorized sharing of access codes). Upon termination, you must cease use of the online platform, though you may keep any physical materials you have already printed for your personal archives.
8. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this license affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015. If the digital content is faulty or not as described, please refer to our FAQ or contact our support team for a replacement.
