Game Setup

Is setup complicated?

Not at all. No installation, no app, no phone. The guide walks you through in 10–15 minutes.

Do we need internet?

Yes. Stable (and preferably fast) internet connection is essential to play the game.

What are the technical requirements to play?

You just need a device with a modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, or Edge are recommended) and a stable internet connection. To fully enjoy the interactive mission videos, we recommend a device with sound capabilities and a medium-to-large screen (laptop, tablet, or Smart TV browser).

Important: If your browser is blocking audio or autoplay, please enable sound permissions for this site.

Advanced users: If you’ve disabled JavaScript or similar scripts via extensions or settings, enable them for this site to ensure full functionality.

Do we need a big TV?

Not exactly. However, if you want to fully enjoy the game, it is strongly recommended that you play the game on a large screen with a sound system.

Do I need any special equipment?

No. You’ll only need everyday items you can easily find at home, like a tape, glass, and rubber bands. If you purchased the Mission Pi Box edition, the guide explains you how to easily assemble the decorations, labels and posters that come with the box. If you only purchased the Mission Pi Digital (online access only without box), you will be provided with cut-out pieces for the DIY model.

Can I play the game on more than one device?

Yes. While the main mission is designed to be viewed on a single large screen (like a TV or laptop), and we recommend playing on a large screen for the best experience, you can also log in on another device (like a tablet or phone) to view the game. Your account is not limited to a specific device or number of devices. However, your unique access code allows only one active session at a time, so only one device can be used during the same session.

For the best experience, we also recommend using external speakers or a sound system, as the game’s effects, music, and character voices are designed to be heard clearly through a proper audio setup.

Do I need to print everything in color? (for digital DIY materials only)

While Mission Pi is best experienced in full color to capture the mystery and detail, the DIY Print Pack is designed to be functional even when printed in black and white. If you choose black and white, we recommend using high‑quality settings to ensure all clues remain clear.

If you purchase the physical box, you will receive the mission materials pre‑printed in high‑quality color, so you can enjoy the full visual experience right out of the box.

Gameplay

How many players is ideal?

Theoretically, even two people can play. However, there are four teams in the game, and 4 to 12 kids is the sweet spot. Larger groups can form more crowded teams.

Can younger or older kids play?

Yes—puzzles include tips for making them easier or harder. However, considering the difficulty level of the puzzles and the interests of children according to their age, the ideal age range is between 8 and 12 years old.

How long does the game last?

Based on our experience to date, we can say that the full adventure lasts approximately 90+ minutes on average. The game experience may be shorter or longer depending on the group.

How difficult are the questions?

The questions cover basic maths, logic, and general knowledge topics. While the game does not contain any built‑in AI tools or chatbots, children are welcome to use their own external resources—such as the internet or third‑party AI assistants—to help solve puzzles when they get stuck. We encourage parents to supervise this process to ensure safe online practices. The characters in the game also provide hints.

What language is it in?

Currently English (other languages may be added in the future).

Can I reuse the game for another party?

Yes, of course. The box and/or digital files remain your property after purchase. However, please note that your digital subscription is valid for a specific period of time.

Once your subscription period ends, your access to the online content and any subscription‑based features will be automatically restricted or deactivated. You will no longer be able to log in to the associated service or use time‑limited digital materials, although you may continue to play using the physical components and any downloadable files you have already saved.

In accordance with data protection regulations (such as GDPR and applicable local laws), your personal data will be stored only for the duration necessary to provide the service, handle billing, and comply with legal obligations. After your subscription ends, we may anonymise or delete your account data unless required to retain it for legal or regulatory reasons. You always have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, in line with applicable privacy laws.

You can extend your subscription at any time to regain full access to the online content and features.

What if I lose a physical component from the box?

Don’t panic! Most of our physical mission components are designed to be easily replaced with everyday household items. If you lose a game disc, a piece of string, or a cup, you can simply use a backgammon checker, a shoelace, or a regular glass from your kitchen to stay on mission.

For paper assets like posters or maps, you can find digital versions in our Mission Pi digital assets or purchase them separately from our store to print a fresh copy. The mission must go on!

Pro Tip: While you can easily print your DIY mission assets on a standard home printer, you can also take your digital files to a local high-street print shop or copy center.

Mission Clearance: Your purchase includes a personal license to print these materials, and you may present this FAQ or your confirmation email as proof of permission to the print shop.

For a more immersive experience: We recommend asking them to print your posters on A3 or larger paper and using sticker paper (adhesive vinyl) for the labels. This is an excellent way to get professional-grade materials for your mission at a low cost!

Safety & Kids

Is the game safe for kids?

Yes. Mission Pi is designed with child-friendly language and activities. No violent or scary content is included. Just mystery.

How active are the physical challenges?

Challenges involve safe, light activities like balancing, tossing a small game disc or arranging objects. No rough play or risky movements are required. Furthermore, there are no games played by running from room to room inside the house 😉

Can parents join the game?

Yes! Parents can participate as helpers or simply observe. One adult host will be sufficient to guide the flow. Still, we believe that children are amazing beings who can successfully carry out this task on their own.

Liability disclaimer

While Mission Pi is designed to be safe and educational, it is intended to be played calmly and indoors in a clear, hazard‑free environment. Players are responsible for ensuring that the playing area is free from tripping hazards, breakable objects, and other potential dangers, and they must avoid rough play or risky movements.

All physical products, including the mission box and its components, are manufactured in full compliance with applicable toy‑safety and consumer‑product regulations. The products have undergone the required safety and conformity tests and bear the UKCA marking, indicating that they meet the UK safety, health, and environmental‑protection requirements.

The company shall not be held liable for any personal injury, property damage, or other loss resulting from the use of Mission Pi, including but not limited to slips, falls, collisions, or misuse of the game components. We strongly recommend adult supervision for children and strict adherence to all usage and safety instructions provided with the product.

Age verification & parental consent

We take children’s data and online safety seriously and comply with UK GDPR requirements. When using our digital services, players may be asked to provide their age or let us know if they are under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in their country).

If a user is identified as a child, we will either:

  • Require verifiable parental consent before collecting or using any personal data, or
  • Limit data collection and processing to what is strictly necessary and in line with our privacy policy.

Our age‑verification and parental‑consent processes are designed to protect young players while ensuring that parents remain in control of how their children interact with our digital content. If you are a parent or guardian and have any questions about your child’s data or consent, please contact our support team.

Who should register for the game?

Mission Pi is designed to be set up by an adult. During registration, we verify that the account holder is a parent or legal guardian. If a child attempts to register independently, our system will warn them and require verifiable parental consent in line with UK GDPR and the ICO Children’s Code. To ensure maximum safety, we recommend that parents create the account and then set up a ‘Player Profile’ for their children, which uses minimal personal data (such as a display name) and ensures a safe, supervised environment.

Absolutely! Mission Pi is a fantastic educational tool for classrooms, clubs, and large parties. For bulk licensing or physical box orders for educational institutions, please contact our support team for specialized pricing.

Payment

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept all major credit and debit cards (such as Visa, Mastercard etc.), as well as Google Pay and Klarna for flexible instalment options. Your payment is processed through secure, industry‑standard payment gateways that encrypt your data and never expose full card details to us. This way you can choose the method that suits you best while keeping your financial information protected.

Is buying online safe?

Yes. Our checkout is protected by modern SSL encryption, and all payments are processed through secure, PCI‑compliant banking partners using encrypted channels. We never store your full card details on our servers, and all transactions are handled by reputable, regulated providers such as major UK banks, Google Pay, and Klarna.

Because we use FCA‑regulated payment services in line with the UK Payment Services Regulations 2017, your purchases benefit from the buyer protection (‘Buyer Protection’) rules that apply to those services. For example, if you pay via Google Pay or Klarna, you may be entitled to dispute a transaction or request a refund under the specific protection terms of that provider, depending on the nature of the issue (e.g. non‑delivery, fraud, or technical problems with the service).

In the case of our hybrid product (physical box + digital content), the buyer‑protection rights will generally apply as follows:

  • The physical box (Mission Pi box) is covered under standard UK consumer‑law protections for goods, including the right to return or claim remedies if the product is faulty, not as described, or not delivered.
  • For digital content (downloaded files or activated codes), the right of withdrawal is limited or excluded once the download has started or the code has been activated, but any issues with access, delivery, or technical faults may still be covered by the payment‑provider protection and our own support and replacement policy.

If you have any questions about your payment‑provider’s buyer‑protection rules or how they apply to your purchase, please contact our support team, and we will help clarify your rights and assist where possible.

What if I have technical issues with my digital content?

If you experience any technical problems (e.g., failed download, invalid code, or login issues), please contact our support team immediately. While digital content is non-refundable, we are committed to ensuring you have a smooth experience and will provide a replacement code or technical assistance to resolve the issue.

Orders & Returns

How do I place an order?

For Digital Packs: Simply select your preferred pack on our website, proceed to our secure checkout, and pay via credit/debit card, Google Pay, or Klarna. You’ll receive your mission access email instantly.

For Physical Mission Boxes: Click the “Buy on Amazon” button on our product pages. You will be redirected to our official Amazon UK store, where you can complete your purchase using your existing Amazon account and preferred shipping methods.

Do I need an account to place an order?

For Digital Packs: Yes. To ensure your mission access code is secure and to provide you with technical support, you will be asked to create a Mission Pi account during the checkout process on our website. This account will allow you to buy a new subscription and access the game page.

For Physical Boxes: You will need an Amazon account to complete your purchase of a physical mission box, as all physical orders are handled through Amazon’s secure platform.

How do I track my order?

Physical Mission Boxes: Once your box is dispatched by Amazon, you can track its journey in real-time through the “Your Orders” section of your Amazon UK account. You will also receive tracking updates directly from Amazon via email or app notifications.

Digital Packs: Digital items don’t require traditional tracking! Your mission assets are delivered instantly via email. You can also view your active missions and access periods by logging into your account on our website.

How do I return a product? (Physical Box vs. Digital Content)

Our return policy differs depending on whether you purchased a physical box or a digital-only pack.

Physical Mission Box (Purchased via Amazon): Since our physical products are sold and fulfilled by Amazon UK, all physical returns are handled through Amazon’s official return system. Under UK consumer law, you have a 14-day cooling-off period to change your mind. To start a return, please visit the ‘Your Orders’ section of your Amazon account. The product must be unused and in its original packaging to qualify for a full refund.

Mission Pi Digital Packs: Digital content (such as downloaded files or activated codes) is subject to specific consumer-protection rules. Under UK law, the right of withdrawal for digital content is limited or excluded once the download has started or the code has been activated, as the content is immediately accessible. For this reason, we cannot accept refunds or cancellations for digital content that has already been accessed, downloaded, or activated.

Can I cancel my order?

For Physical Boxes: You may cancel your order through your Amazon account before it is dispatched. If it has already been shipped, you can return it within the 14-day cooling-off period mentioned above.

For Digital Packs: Once your payment is confirmed and the access email is sent, the digital service is considered “delivered.” Therefore, cancellations are not possible for digital items once the delivery process has started.

How long will it take to get my package?

The delivery time depends on which version of Mission Pi you have chosen:

Physical Mission Box (via Amazon UK): All our physical boxes are stored and dispatched directly from Amazon fulfillment centers across the UK.

    • Amazon Prime Members: You can often receive your mission box as early as the next day.

    • Standard Delivery: Typically takes 2–4 working days depending on your location.

    • Highlands, Islands & Northern Ireland: Please allow an extra 1–2 working days for delivery to more remote UK postcodes.

    • Note: You will see a precise delivery date on the Amazon checkout page before you complete your purchase.

Mission Pi Digital Packs: There is no waiting time! Your digital mission assets and access codes are delivered to your email inbox instantly after your payment is confirmed. You can start preparing your mission within minutes of ordering.

What happens if I lose my activation code or confirmation email?

Don’t worry! If you’ve already activated the game, you won’t need this code again. The activation code is for one-time use only.  However, If you need this code, simply log into your account on our website to view your active code. Alternatively, contact our support team with your order details, and we’ll get you back on mission in no time.
